Challenge
Creating an easy to use platform to generate personalised explanatory videos for patients, that can be easily implemented into any hospital world-wide. A stand-alone system that operates separately from any other hospital systems.
Creating a highly empathetic, friendly and clear web interface for patient’s parents.
Integrating and monitoring patient’s journey into a single smart system that combines both end-users, including a custom dashboard for surgery coordinators that monitors each patient’s full journey.
Role
Creating UX specification and design for two major projects with Ichilov hospital. Interface for a video creator for all internal departments, and an interface for a video creator for children’s surgeries for the Anastasia Division, including a surgery- coordinator dashboard and a patient’s parents web app.

Creating the user flow in this case derives from the relations between Hospital-System-Patient.
None of the three can generate a complete journey without the other.
A fascinating challenge, it’s simplicity must be highly efficient since the system manages thousands of patients yearly.

VIDEO CREATION PLATFORM
FOR SURGERY COORDINATORS &
INTERNAL DEPARTMENTS NURSES
Empower
One of our main goals was to empower the surgery coordinators and nurses, giving them a sense of creation in the process, therefor, their interface was designed as a video creator in which they are the directors.
Choices
Let the user choose. In this case, surgery coordinators and nurses were pleased to hear that they can generate new videos from their pc, iPad or mobile phone.
Fun
A “simply have fun” graphic language, with animated characters, lots of icons and transitions that also relates to the animation video they are building.
Difference
Understanding the different processes of each department of the hospital, and creating a universal system that supports them all.

SURGERY COORDINATOR DASHBOARD
FOR SURGERY COORDINATORS &
HEAD OF ANESTHESIA DEPARTMENT
Operation room must always be occupied, since there are always more patients waiting for surgery. The dashboard helps prevent such states for it’s automatic reminders, parents report in advance on any change in condition, that alerts in the dashboard, giving the coordinator enough time to schedule another operation in that room.

Designing the web app in the easiest, most understandable way for all parents.
Our personas could be anyone with a child, therefor the system must be clear and easy to use.
Empathy, there is nothing more frightening than sending your child to surgery, therefor the design contained illustrations and a soft graphic language, containing characters from our animated explanatory videos.
